Guys Have Sensitive Skin
Too
If you
have red, itchy, flaky skin it can be caused by many things.
The main culprit is your products and their scents.
Masculine scents have been added to your products to make you want
to use them. But if you are
irritated by these try “fragrance-free,” or unscented products.
The term “hypo-allergenic” usually means there has been no
scent added to the product.
Some
sensitive skin products to try: Donell Super Skin Optimal Cleanser For Men
(A Fresh, very moisturizing non-soap cleanser
for normal and irritated types.
Another
cause of this irritated skin can be rosacea.
Rosacea is not contagious, but there’s no known cure.
However, the symptoms, such as itchiness, redness and flaking can
be controlled and suppressed. Stay
away from products with the words “astringent,” and “AHA.” Always use sunscreen as the sun aggravates rosacea,
moisturize well and stay away from spicy foods and alcohol. Extreme temperatures from the shower and weather can also
affect rosacea. Try to keep
everything as moderate as possible. If
you find it gets worse, or it really bothers you talk to your doctor.
There are prescription creams available to treat the symptoms as
well.
Good
Cleansers for those with Rosacea are calming cleansers such as: Sundari Gentle Gel Cleanser
The last
culprit of red, flaky skin is over cleansing.
You need to cleanse twice a day and you do NOT need to scrub the
hell out of your face. Put
down the washcloth! Use your
hands instead to wash your face and always rinse well with clear tepid
water.

Moisturizer
is just as important as cleansing. It
is not girlie to put cream on your face.
Redness and flakes can go away with a simple moisturizer and
keeping the skin hydrated will keep you wrinkle-free longer. Get a lotion with an SPF 15 and make sure it is meant
specifically for your face. Using
body lotion on your face will clog the pores and cause pimples.
When washing and moisturizing don’t forget your neck too.
It needs the same care as your face.
Use just enough lotion to make the comfortable.
Your skin should not be tight or greasy.
Choose a moisturizer
from the previous page.
If you
have skin problems that persist, you should consult your doctor.
Sometimes its as simple as a food allergy or an ingredient in your
product. Don’t be afraid to
talk to an esthetician or dermatologist either.
We’re here for you too!
Last but
not least, you are a man, moisturizer or not.
To be confident in yourself is mental and related to your
perceptions of the physical. Just
because you’re a guy doesn’t mean your concerns about your appearance
aren’t legitimate. So feel
better and take good care yourselves!
